Quality Gemstones

Published by Rachel Howard under Diamonds

Cost and quality are the many concerns of any hoop earrings jewelry buyer. Very often we do not desire to lose out on quality just to save a couple of dollars. Unless you have been saving money for a considerable time, loans are a good way to finance giant jewelry purchases. Today, many jewelry stores offer financing and unsecured loans on site, and many banks also are currently offering credit lines in particular aimed towards diamond purchases. Here you will see what sorts of unsecured loans shall be open to you in the jewellery business.

The first kind of unsecured loan is a revolving account and it works in a fashion that is terribly similar to a Visa card. You'll potentially get a card that has the store symbol and info on it with your account number. You'll be able to make minimum monthly payments against the balance of the price of the acquisition over a specified time period. Usually this is around 36 months or three years. You could have to put a minimum down-payment on the jewellery and you can expect this to be around 10$ of the total cost of the purchase. Put as much down as you can upfront, this may reduce your overall balance from the start. Here your monthly payments will depend on the amount that is still pending, and how much you put down. Good qualifiers for this type of loan would be good credit history and limited money flow. If you believe your history may forestall you, you may have to get a co-signer.

You must be thinking this is some kind of joke. But it's not. Marrying isn't a light call. Few folks get married overnite. Most wedding offers are planned with months of expectation. So if you can plan an offer, why not plan a monthly budget to save for the ring? It is nowhere near as hard as it sounds. Only by cutting down on unnecessary expenditures and by saving at least ten percent of your revenue, you will have a decent sum of money in a few months time. Here is an example, if you earn $3000 a month, and you choose to put aside let us say 15% of your income, then in a 6 month period you'll have saved $2700. Excellent!

When time is a controversy you have no other option except to resort to financing. There are many different investment instruments that you can get in order to pay for an engagement ring. For example, if you have a credit card, then, your problem is half solved as you simply need to purchase your engagement ring with your card and pay as much as you can of the balance each month to totally pay it off. [**] whether the ring is expensive or you do not have enough credit left on your card you may wish to try other possibilities.

The disadvantage of this loan is that banks have a tendency to charge increased rates due to the shorter duration and the higher risk. It gets worse, the lower your credit report the higher the interest rate. That's why it is vital to look around because it's a competitive business and you can look at the rate quotes that are available. You will be in a position to compare and contrast. There are online lenders who can avail unsecured loans at lower rates.

Gemstones are a very nice alternative to traditional diamond rings.

Diamond Jewelry - Mystique Around Diamond Jewelry

Published by Rich Vial under Diamonds

Talk of diamond jewelry and the first images that come to one's mind are mystic but beautiful, strangely enchanting women. Over the past years, advertisements of diamond jewelry have used this visual to enhance the magic further. They are not just any adornment. If they were they wouldn't have been so very expensive. They have meant much more to the human race over generations. That is why, irrespective of the region on the world map, civilizations have always associated diamond jewelry with the highest like the kings, nobles etc.

Diamond jewelry owes its charm to its exquisite beauty, especially the multitude of colors reflecting from each of the stones that make it up. Diamonds to mankind represent purity and strength, two qualities that have always been respected and hence draw so much attention at the sub-conscious level. We often get words of advice about how only the best come out of real fire, very much metaphorical to the way diamonds are formed under high temperature and pressure. It's that quality of theirs that adheres to the human spirit.

Diamond jewelry is also highly symbolic of the social status, perhaps because of their high cost. Nothing raises one's esteem in another's opinion the way diamonds do, in terms of financial standing. The same fact has been often found true with the olden generations too. Diamond is often depicted with great detail adorning a queen or a king in medieval paintings. Down the ages, perhaps the size of the stones has come down, but not their value.

Diamond jewelry is often the insignia of a family too. In many cases, it's passed down from generation to generation. In some tradition rich countries, the whole act of passing the jewelry from the mother in law to the daughter in law is a highly elaborate and celebrated occasion. Symbolically, diamond is presented by the elders to the daughter of the house, implying she has to do her best to safeguard the family values to which she has now been bonded to for life. Some families have lost their financial standing over the years, but few would part with their diamond.

In some colonial countries, diamond had been taken away from the regional monarchs or nobles, and transported back home. In some places, kings befriended the colonial invaders and offered them their friendship and diamond had as a sign of friendship. Diamond was regarded as the ultimate gift to anyone, for they symbolized beauty, clarity, strength and wealth and only the mightiest of hearts could part with such precious objects.

What diamond means to society is amply evident. Diamond jewelry is the protagonist of dreams of most women, something it is believed, is the surest way to her heart. Diamond jewelry is one of the few things that haven't lost its charm, importance or attraction in a thousand years, much like the stones that make them.

Educating Yourself About Engagement Rings And Wedding Rings

Published by Adriana Noton under Diamonds

Educating yourself about engagement rings and wedding rings can be an eye-opening and cash-saving experience. Engagement and wedding rings aren't tied to any season, but they seem to roll out the doors a bit more around Christmas or Valentine's Day. But a good tip for anyone who is planning on purchasing one, is to go to the jewelry armed with at least a basic amount of knowledge in this area.

Once you begin your education, you'll begin to see that there is some new terminology to learn, and some old terminology that you just thought you understood. Some of the terms used, if not understood, can cause you to pass over them, while others may seem to be misleading. But once you have a working knowledge of these things, it's a much easier experience all the way around.

One of the terms you hear often in regards to diamonds, is the 'cut'. Another is 'shape'. And many take for granted that these two mean the same thing, because you have to cut a diamond to get its shape. But in fact, while the shape is mainly the 'contour' line of the stone, the 'cut' is much more involved in the overall description. It takes is the depth and the width, and other facets that will affect the brilliance and durability of the stone.

Once you get your working knowledge of the stones, then you need to get familiar with settings. There are a lot of different types of settings, the most common being the 'prong' setting. And this setting itself comes in many variations. So again, it's a good idea to do a little reading about the different types of prong settings, and find out which ones are best for which stones. This is very useful knowledge for shopping engagement rings and wedding rings.

Once you know the prong settings, then you can move on to the other settings that are available. There are the bezel, the channel, and invisible types of settings that it can be a good idea to know something about. Learning how to pair which setting with which stone can be a key part of getting the best value for the money you put out. Some settings can make a diamond appear to be larger than it actually is, and this is good to know.

One of the most common terms you'll hear when shopping in jewellery stores is 'clarity'. What this means is the presence or absence of flaws in the stone. Some of the flaws are on the surface, and some are within the diamond itself. Trying to find one that is perfect in clarity, is nearly impossible, and expensive. For the most part, these flaws can only be seen with a magnifying loupe and not with the naked eye.

Color plays a big part in choosing a diamond. Many who don't understand about diamonds, believe they're all clear and white. But this isn't the case. It is a fact that the white diamond sets the standard by which the others are judged. So color is another area of study for the one who wants to understand diamonds.

Educating yourself about engagement and wedding rings can not only save money, but it can be a rewarding and interesting undertaking. It's a subject that's vast in the amount of knowledge you can gain if you dig deep enough. Many people have made it their hobby. And today is the age of easy information, so research is done much simpler than in times past. So do a little research, and get the ring you want, for the one you love.

Curved & Beautiful Diamond Stud Earrings

Published by Rich Vial under Diamonds

A woman can look more beautiful if she makes proper use of her accessories. One among them is earrings and it would be a bonus if it's a diamond stud earrings. The best part of choosing a diamond stud earring is that it goes on any attire. It would look good even on any traditional wear like sari or a formal trouser. They are a must in any woman's jewelry collection box.

While choosing a diamond stud earring certain points should be taken care off like its color, weight and cut. Care should be taken that it's not too bulky otherwise it would be painful for the ears. Also it should not be very small but of medium size and should suit the face cut. Normally the earrings are more costly than the pendant as the weight and number of carat are more in them. So fix a budget in mind and then go for the shopping. They are available with gold fitting as well as with platinum with varied size and color.

Diamond stud earrings should suit your style and personality. These days they are also designed with multiple gemstones on it. So you can wear the same with your matching dress. Try to choose a design that is simple but at the same time it should also look elegant. Don't fix your eyes at one shop and try to compare different prices. This would help you to see the variety of designs available as well as help you in arriving at the best deal.

You need to set up a right budget before buying it as it's not going to be cheap. After that decide upon the metal that you would like to wear and accordingly start searching for the designs. If you can afford then go in for platinum diamond stud earrings as they are more durable and it has the best fitting. Also even if you wear it daily it won't fade as that's the peculiarity of that metal.

The next thing to take care of while selecting diamond stud earring is the ear lobes and the face cut of the person. Ideally if the person has long face, long earrings would suit her more rather than the round shape. If the person has round face than she can definitely go in for square and pear shaped cut earrings. They should be light in weight.

Also check out with the designs as to where the major weight lies. If the center stone is bigger and the rest of them are light in weight then it would be the best choice. This would not affect your ear lobes and at the same time the design would also look beautiful.

Thus the above should be taken care off while selecting a diamond stud earring.

Priceless Gems How Are They Formed

Published by Jordan Mites under Diamonds

The stones that made the mountains were not always solid. At one time, they were molten, known as magma, made so by the extreme pressures and heat in the earth's heart; the same pressures and heat that formed diamonds over eons of processing. So when the magma came up, so did the diamonds with it. Today, we mine them and wear them, and we bask in the glory of the diamond jewelry.

The liquid form of igneous rocks is called magma. When heated to impossible temperatures and pressure, they find cracks in the bowels and ascend to the earth's surface. It is the birthing of diamonds because the processed stones in the earth's belly are brought up as such. Otherwise, the jewels would have remained myths, living only in the minds of those who dared dream that far out.

The temperatures in the bowels of the earth are immense. It is what melts some metals, but it is also what creates diamonds. Who would believe it, seeing them, that diamonds come from nothing besides decayed matter from eons ago? But that is the irony of life, isn't it?

There are a number of places you could find diamonds. There are cratons, there are volcanic rocks, and they are waterbeds of streams that flow from volcanic sources. In some instances you find them also in sandstones and conglomerates. Whatever it takes, as long as you can lay your hands on earth's most priced precious stone.

If you had the proper tutorship, you could also become a jeweler by your own right. All you need do is arm yourself with all the information you can get about diamonds, and how to test for them. This way, you may never again have to worry that you have been swindled. You could test it yourself, before you buy.

Diamond jewelry possesses a brilliance that arises from its index of refraction. This is determined by the angle at which light is bent as it crosses the boundary between the air and the stone upon entry and upon exit. The higher this value, the higher the brilliance of the mineral, and thus, the more it will cost you, if you desire to own it.

Jordan Mites has been writing articles for years. Recently he created a new site about Mikimoto Pearl Necklace and if you are interested in exotic jewelry also checkout black pearl rings

Buying a Diamond: The Four C’s

Published by Diane Ayers under Diamonds

As you begin your search for the perfect diamond engagement ring, it can be a bit overwhelming. Some basic information on how to choose a diamond can be very helpful.

Cut, color, clarity and carat are called the Four C's. These characteristics are the standards in determining the quality and price of each diamond. So, what do you need to know about the Four C's?

The best rating given to a cut is Ideal or Excellent. Others are Very Good, Good, Fair or Medium and lastly, Poor. Diamond descriptions list cut ratings as I or E, VG, G, F or M and P. When choosing a diamond, pay close attention to the cut. Cut may be the most important consideration. A diamond which has been cut well will reflect light more brilliantly than a lesser-cut stone.

Fancy colored diamonds are in a different category than white diamonds when it comes to color grading, although some light yellow or light brown gems fall under the white diamond scale. The scale begins with D which means colorless, and goes to Z where tint is obvious. Jewelers typically carry white diamonds graded from D to I. J to M have a faint hint of yellow. Diamonds from M to Z have increasing amounts of yellow or brown tint.

Natural diamonds are millions of years old. As diamonds were being formed deep within the earth, minerals and even other gemstones may have become imbedded in the diamond's structure. A special magnifying glass, called a jeweler's loupe, can be used to look deep inside the diamond. Flaws can be detected and classified on a scale from Internally Flawless to Included (seen with the naked eye. Abbreviations are given on a diamond's grading sheet for clarity. IF is the best and I3 is the lowest.

If a diamond has flaws, sometimes laser drilling and infilling treatments are applied to remove the flaw. These treatments should be revealed by the jeweler. A white diamond can have the color grade dropped by one level after treatment.

Carat is the weight of the diamond. One carat is 200 milligrams. This is where it gets tricky as the diamond's price is per carat. The seller takes all the other characteristics into consideration, determines the value, and sets the "per carat" price.

Which Do I Have A Cubic Zirconia Or A Diamond?

Published by Dave Jenkins under Diamonds

I wonder if it is real? Is the question that most people think of in the back of their minds when they find, buy, or receive the little shiny stone. I often even wonder when I pass by a jewelry case or see a ring on someone's finger if it's real. I think that it is somewhat natural to be just a little bit curious if the person spent a little bit of money or did they spend a lot of money.

The first way to tell if you have a legit diamond is to hold it up to a light and see if you can look right through it. If you can then more than likely it is not going to be a real diamond. The reason for this is going to be that only the rarest of diamonds are going to be clear.

Another great way to tell the two stones apart is to put the stone down onto a page of a book, newspaper or magazine and see if you can read the words clearly through the stone. If you can than this is more than likely not a real diamond and more than likely a cubic zirconia. Diamonds usually have some kind of imperfection in them that disallows this.

Also another test that is eay to do is the breathe test is a test that uses your breathe to tell if the stone holds heat or not. It works by breathing on the stone like you would a pair of glasses and watching how fast the fog goes away. If it goes away fast then it could be a diamond, if to goes away slow then it is probably a cubic zirconia.

Another great way to tell if you have a great stone or a fake is. If you are able to have access to the interior of the ring or pocket watch then see if there is a C.Z. stamped there if there is then you have a cubic zirconia. On the other hand if there are numbers and then the letter k then it might be that you have a real diamond on your hands.

This test works well if you have for sure a real diamond on your hands that is around the same size as the one that is in question. The weight of a cubic zirconia is almost twice that of a diamond. In fact the weight of a cubic zirconia is 1.7 that of a diamond.
