Go With Diamond Anniversary Bands for That Romantic Occasion

June 29th, 2011 Jaime Campbell Comments off

Celebrating your wedding anniversary, whether in a traditional or modern fashion, should be romantic. Not only are wedding anniversaries important milestones in your relationship, they are also a chance to show your thoughtfulness towards your spouse. Traditionally, each anniversary has been associated with a specific gift, theme, flower, gemstone, or other symbolism. Currently, anniversary gifts tend to be special each year, but particularly nice on significant years, such as the five-year or ten-year anniversary.

In the modernized version, the tenth anniversary is the diamond anniversary, which makes the ideal gift a straightforward option.

Your five-year anniversary is the next major landmark in your marriage after your first anniversary. A diamond ring would be an especially considerate gift, especially due to the growing regard for five-stone diamond rings. The five diamonds represent each year of marriage and the ring itself symbolizes your bond and dedication to each other.

The five-year flower is the daisy, the color is pink, and the traditional gemstone that corresponds to the fifth anniversary is the sapphire, so a five stone ring or eternity ring incorporating blue, pink, or yellow sapphires into the design is also an especially thoughtful five year anniversary gift. Traditionally, the daffodil and the color blue are also associated with the 10-year anniversary, so a five stone ring with a yellow diamond or a diamond and blue sapphire eternity ring is a lovely and symbolic gift for this occasion.

The way a gift is presented, especially on an important day like one's fifth or tenth anniversary, can be just as important as the gift itself. Again, we can look to the history of anniversary symbolism for ideas; port wine is associated with both years, so perhaps a picnic with gourmet cheese and wine or enjoying some port during a romantic dinner at an upscale restaurant would be a good setting for presenting your 10 year or 5 year anniversary gift.

In the end, of course, it doesn't matter how traditional or trendy your gifts and celebrations are; if your jewelry and other gifts are chosen with love and attention to detail, your anniversary will be as joyful as your wedding day.

It may sound simple and uninteresting but actually, paper is known to be one of the greatest gifts as it can be interpreted into a lot of options.

On five anniversary nothing works than a nice romantic escape for a couple who is probably already getting too bogged down with their daily responsibilities to have time for each other. You can gift them a nice honeymoon package to a nearby romantic locale where they could spend the weekend. If your budget is slightly lower, even a candlelight dinner could do the trick too! These are great formal five year anniversary gift ideas as well as informal five year anniversary gift ideas, that never fail to charm!

You can also give her a gift that the both of you can enjoy. For instance, a concert ticket of your favorite artist that you can experience together and book a hotel near the concert location where you can go afterwards. This can also serve as your second honeymoon. If both of you enjoy watching sporting events, tickets to a minor league baseball or a football game is a great idea for a five year anniversary gift for her. These ideas are great because you can both enjoy the event and celebrate your anniversary together.

Another inspiring paper gift for her is her favorite book or something that you think your wife will enjoy reading from cover to cover. You can find a wide range of inspiring books in different bookstores regarding love and relationships. If you are an artist, you can consider giving her your artwork. A piece of your own artwork is always a perfect gift for your wife. However, if you do not have any artistic inclination, you can ask help from an art expert in selecting a good artwork. Make sure to choose wisely because the piece will eventually be displayed in your home.

For a more personal five year anniversary gift for her, you can write a special romantic poem for her. Think about how much you love her, the things you love about her, the reasons you married her and the unforgettable memories you have shared together. If you are not into poetry, a simple love letter will surely put a smile on her face. These five year anniversary gifts for her are just a few ideas for your loved one. You can always be creative and more daring in thinking of the best gift for your five year anniversary. It is best to know her favorites and the things she enjoy the most before selecting a special gift. Though an expensive gift is great, remember that you do not need to spend a fortune. Beautiful Eternity Wedding Rings for All

June 17th, 2011 Jaime Campbell Comments off

Eternity bands can be difficult to make because rings are sold by carat total weight, so for each ring ordered ordered all the stones need to be a uniform color, shape, and size so the circle they form will look good, add up to the proper carat total weight, and fit the wearer's finger.

Maintenance of your eternity ring should be handled with extreme care-never attempt to secure, remove, or replace stones yourself, or clean your ring with harsh chemical solutions. All service that may affect the structural integrity of your eternity setting should be done by a professional jeweler-preferably someone on the staff of the retailer from which the ring was purchased. Likewise, if your ring requires a thorough cleaning it's best to take it to a professional, but to remove light buildup and restore shine between professional cleanings, it's safe to wash your eternity ring with liquid soap and a soft cloth.

Because eternity bands have to measure a specific carat weight and be available in different sizes, the diamonds that are chosen must add up to the right total carat weight, be uniformly sized, and all qualify for the desired color and clarity grades. This can be challenging depending on the number of diamonds needed to form the eternity band of that particular size.

Eternity bands are easy to care for when it comes to everyday upkeep-- most buildup caused by oil and dirt from skin, cosmetics, and one's environment can be removed by washing your eternity rings in warm water with liquid soap and a soft cloth. But if your jewelry seems to need a more thorough cleaning, take it to a jeweler where it will be professionally cleaned with methods that won't damage it.

The different setting options, as much as the diamonds, are what make eternity rings special. The variety of settings like classic shared and four-prong styles, timeless bezel and channel settings, and delicate u-shaped gem settings allow for infinite variations on a simple theme.

Your wedding anniversary is a special occasion every year, but certain years are meaningful milestone anniversaries as well. In the past, every anniversary year up to 100 had a specific gift, theme, flower, gemstone, and other symbolism attached to it, but these days we tend to concentrate on getting a nice gift each year and perhaps doing something extra special for the major ones.

In the modernized version, the tenth anniversary is the diamond anniversary, which makes the ideal gift a straightforward option.

The 5 year anniversary isn't quite as clear cut, but there are still plenty of new and old symbols to make it special; for example, giving five-stone diamond rings has become a very popular five year anniversary gift.

Along with the diamond, the daffodil and the color blue are associated with the tenth anniversary, so a diamond and blue or yellow sapphire ring is an excellent, meaningful anniversary gift. When it comes to the five year, the gemstone connected with this anniversary is the sapphire, it's color is pink, and its flowers is the daisy. This gives you a lot of options in choosing the perfect piece of jewelry as blue, pink, or yellow sapphires alongside diamonds in a five stone or eternity ring would be an appropriate choice with a nod to these traditions.

Setting the right scene to unveil your ten or five year anniversary gift also plays a role. Wine, especially port, has a history in anniversary symbolism, as does mead, so dinner or tapas paired with one of these will set a perfect romantic mood.

In the end, of course, it doesn't matter how traditional or trendy your gifts and celebrations are; if your jewelry and other gifts are chosen with love and attention to detail, your anniversary will be as joyful as your wedding day.

Demystifying Jewelry Facts: The Four Cs Simplified

May 6th, 2011 Jaime Campbell Comments off

Learning about diamonds can be confusing for consumers new to jewelry shopping. A helpful way to learn the basics is this guide to the basics of diamond quality.

Crucial information makes these pages worth a look for more experienced shoppers as well. Most retailers will have a good quality page of this type, and it's a good idea to check it out to learn all about the 4 Cs, just to brush up on the differences between diamond clarity grades, and see what diamond-related knowledge they bring to the table.

Diamond grading, which includes the evaluation of different attributes known commonly as "the four Cs", is a set of criteria by which the value and quality of diamonds are measured.

Cut is the most important of these factors, as proper cutting of a diamond is essential in bringing out the sparkle and fire that made this gem famous. Cut is often confused with shape, the form into which the diamond is cut.

The next, color, is one of the more detectable features of diamonds for non-jewelers to observe, although it is difficult for even the most skilled eye to distinguish between loose diamonds fewer than two color grades apart, or three grades apart for a stone that has been set. This is why diamond colors are often given as ranges.

Clarity is the next step of the four Cs, which measures a diamonds internal and external flaws. Flawless and near flawless diamonds are the best quality, but it takes several grades down from that level for inclusions to be visible to the naked eye, so some of these mid-grade diamonds are a great deal!

Carat weight, the last of the four Cs and the trait that almost anyone can spot immediately, is the unit of measure applied to diamonds and other gems. While searching for the right piece of diamond jewelry, you may have noticed that pricing for diamonds of comparable cut, color and clarity grades increases exponentially rather than proportionally with the carat weight of the diamond. This is because finding large, good quality diamonds is less likely than finding small diamonds suitable for jewelry, or large diamonds that need bad areas cut away to form multiple smaller gems, so the value of a gem increases as the supply of gems like it decreases.

Most retailers will have a good quality page of this type, and it's a good idea to check it out to learn all about the 4 Cs, just to brush up on the differences between diamond clarity grades, and see what diamond-related knowledge they bring to the table.

Diamonds have many particular characteristics that make them special; in addition to their unusual beauty, diamonds are the hardest naturally-occurring material on Earth.

Cut is the most important of these factors, as proper cutting of a diamond is essential in bringing out the sparkle and fire that made this gem famous. Cut is often confused with shape, the form into which the diamond is cut.

Next is color. Although diamond color grades range from D-Z, it's rare to find fine jewelry utilizing anything beyond K color. Diamonds beyond this color grade steadily decline in rarity and value as they have noticeable yellow or brownish tints. Of course, diamonds with very pronounced natural colors including bright yellows, pinks, and blues are the rarest of all and actually more valuable many types of white diamond.

Choosing Diamond Anniversary Jewelry for That Special Occasion

Celebrating your wedding anniversary, whether in a traditional or modern fashion, should be romantic. Traditionally, each anniversary has been associated with a specific gift, theme, flower, gemstone, or other symbolism. Currently, anniversary gifts tend to be special each year, but particularly nice on significant years, such as the five-year or ten-year anniversary.

For the ten-year mark more modest gifts were once the norm, but these days, with couples marrying later in life and becoming more affluent sooner, this standard has changed. Decoding Diamonds : The 4 Cs Simplified

Making decisions about diamond choices can be confusing for consumers new to jewelry shopping. A helpful way to learn is this guide to the basics of diamond quality.

Another source that can assist with this is the diamond education page of an online jewelry store. Good retailers will have a good quality page of this type, and it's a good idea to check it out to learn all about the 4 Cs, just to brush up on the differences between diamond clarity grades, and see what diamond-related knowledge they bring to the table.

Diamond grading, which includes the evaluation of different attributes known commonly as "the four Cs", is a set of criteria by which the value and quality of diamonds are measured.

Diamond cut is the most important factor of all. A poorly planned or executed cutting technique can permanently ruin a top-quality diamond, and conversely a lower quality diamond can be exponentially improved by cutting the stone very well.

This is why diamond colors are often given as ranges.

clarity is the evaluation of a diamond's internal and external flaws. Generally speaking, flaws inside a stone are called inclusions while flaws on the surface are known as blemishes. However, for the purposes of grading, gemological labs refer to all diamond flaws as inclusions.

Finally, there's carat, the unit of measure indicating the weight of the diamond. This is the easiest to see and simplest to understand of the four cs.

Gold Diamond Jewelry For Investment Purposes

March 7th, 2010 Janemaicah Weir Comments off

Some of us buy gold fashion jewelry because - it feels great, our mother said so, it compliments the color of our skin, its a great possible investment, yaddy, yaddy yah. The reasons are as numerous as the wonderfully honest dealers who would sell you the jewellery.

I guess I shouldn't pass too quickly over the "great investment theme" because its or can be somewhat important to know that "10 Carat gold" all the way up to "18 Carat gold" is not generally considered to be great investment material. And unfortunately the fact that your home insurance will cover it still doesn't make it investment grade material.

Some of us want to claim an investment while still flaunting the bling on our skin and there is nothing wrong with that so flaunt something a little or considerably better than 18 Carat in order to claim the investment angle. The trick, especially in North America and England, is - where does one buy 24K Gold?

Most jewellers who don't sell 24 Carat gold are likely to tell you that there is no such thing in jewelry since its too soft for most applications. They are not altogether incorrect however from experience I can tell you that 22 Carat Gold necklaces of 110 grams have been known to support the pull of a 50 pound child.

I first started buying gold in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. It was, at one time very cheap there. Then I moved on to the gold souks of Dubai and the other Emerites. Real 24K stuff can be had there.

If truth be told, I thought I was buying 24, but it was usually only 97-98% pure, but hey, still better than the 14k stuff sold in North America.

Then I found them. These are massive jewelry shops on both the Hong Kong and Kowloon side. They sell fantastic pearl, emerald and wonderfully carved gold pieces. Supposedly, the HK government certifies what they are selling, but a few of these tourists traps have all kinds of interesting motivational **deals** especially in Kowloon. Anyway, they have certificates claiming their 24 Carat Gold is 99.999% pure, but when I took their stuff to London, I was told that the purity was extremely good but a little more than 22 Carats.

I took their stuff to an internationally known goldsmith to melt down, he again informed me that the material was only 22 to 23 Carats Gold purity. I kept thinking about how embarrassing it would be show one's own little gold volume/weight measurement tool in one of those massive elite stores and proudly if not loudly proclaim that their 99.999% gold isn't truly what it claims to be - I am also imagining that one would be set on not unkindly by the police for creating such a golden disturbance.

And I know someone else will post and tell me that they are from HK and the govt certifies these big stores blah blah but I have purchased big items 4 times in 6 years and each time while trying to sell elsewhere in North America and the UK have been told similar bad news ( Even when I presented the govt stamped HK certificate|It made no difference to the buyers even when presented with the certificate of authenticity which comes with each piece purchased from HK ) Can authenticity certificates be faked? Certainly. Might certain shops fake them? I can't say.

Lesson learned, when buying gold from a store don't ever fully 100% trust your seller or your buyer because the value of the metal is so high, understand that if either of the two groups can sucker you for even 2-3% of the value, they will, they can and they won't stop - irrespective of authenticity proofs blah blah blah.

Lesson learned, when buying precious metals in the form of jewelry from a store don't ever fully 100% trust your seller or your buyer because the value of the metal is so high, understand that if either of the two groups can sucker you for even 2-3% of the value, they will, they can and they won't stop - irrespective of govt certifications blah blah blah.

If your goal is truly for investment and you have no real need to put on the bling then buy a regulated certifiable gold bar from a western based dealer who is very much liable in western courts and has both insurance and liability coverage.

If what your concern is to buy 14 Carat or below, ignore almost everything said above since, 14 Carat is not investment quality anyway.

If you are in HK and not sure if you should buy. Don't hesitate, just understand that it's not often that a street vendor sell you absolutely 24 Carats, even if he/she believes it is so. Haggle the price with the knowledge that you're are probably getting substantially more than 22 Carats but is unlikely to be truly 24 Carats. Compare this to the North American or even Australian experience where you are most likely being sold only 14 Carats.

So buy it, wear it, enjoy it, don't lose it and have fun.

We have been buying awe inspiring diamond jewellery almost since the trading began. One would think there shouldn't be any of this precious stone left by now, lol. Have a look at the best diamond wedding rings on the planet.
