Tracking down handmade jewelry can be hard. This is very true if you live somewhere that is not home to art fairs or if your internet connection isn't good. So what are you supposed to do when you want to buy hand crafted jewelry but you aren't sure how to get it? She learns how to make her own! Making your own jewelry, believe it or not, can be pretty easy. If you have the right materials and some patience, you can make beautiful jewelry in no time at all! Here are some things you can do to learn how to make and cheaply get your own handmade jewelry.

The best way to get hand made jewelry of your own is to make it yourself. Finding someone to teach you is a great way to do this. You might also think about taking a class in making jewelry at a jewelry shop or your local community center. You might even be able to find a local jewelry artisan to give you one on one lessons. It's easier to learn how to make your own jewelry when you have your teacher's undivided attention.

Fairs for Arts and Crafts. Almost every city and town has its own craft and art fairs. They may not happen often but make sure you check them out when they do occur. Fans of handmade jewelry have a treasure trove available to them at these fairs. The best thing about purchasing your handmade jewelry through a fair is that it can usually be purchased at very low prices. There are lots of artists who will usually charge lower prices at art fairs because they want to build a name for themselves. If you buy hand crafted jewelry (or anything really) at an art fair always ask if the artist has his or her own website. The most expensive pieces that the artist is selling will usually be displayed on the website.

You can also buy handmade jewelry from jewelry stores (obviously). Sometimes this jewelry will be incredibly expensive (like the kind you will find in a jewelry store). Other times the pieces will be easily afforded, like the stuff you find in boutiques. Boutique owners often buy hand crafted jewelry from local artists and then sell it for them. If a piece sells then the store gives some of the profit to the artist and keeps the rest. This is a great way to get your own handmade jewelry without having to wait for an art fair or scour the internet for things you like.

Handmade jewelry is a fantastic addition to any accessory box or wardrobe. There are countless reasons to buy handmade jewelry. This type of jewelry is often cheaper than the jewelry that you will find in the jewelry shops in your town or city. It is extraordinary (where mass produced pieces never can be). It is also uncommon. An admirable thing about having piece of jewelry that is handcrafted is you will have something unlike other people - without having to pay the high prices involved with buying jewelry that has been specifically commissioned.

Hunting out for unique jewelry is often loads of fun but can often be really time consuming. I always find a quick search online on somewhere like ebay is usually the best place for hand created jewelry
